Between Jan 2021 and Jun 2021, we use some KingFast SSD, which using PHISON S11 Chip and YANGTZE memory. Those SSD may going to write protection status, it’s origined from firmware bug in firmware version SBFQP1.3 and SBFQPW3, to solve this problem, we suggest user update firmware to SBFQP1C3.
This guide is applicable to the SSD that has already entered the write protected state, and cannot enter the windows system normally.
First, let’s prepare: 1. a Windows PC than can run normally; 2. an USB flash disk capacity no less than 8GB; 3. Firmware update tool “update S11 FW(PE)”—Download here.
Now let’s go for USB tools making. Plug USB flash disk into the Windows PC, decompression file “update S11 FW(PE)”, which include file “Win8PEx64” and file “Make_Usb_Device”
1. Right click “Make_Usb_Device”, run as administrator, and select U disk(this step will delet all files in USB flash disk), select “Make” to confirm, when message “It’s been successful!” shows, file write in successful.
2. Copy file “Win8PEx64” to U disk, and till now, firmware updating tool make successful. To help learn more deeply, here is vedio guide for above steps:
Now we go for next step: firmware update.
1. Plug the U disk to the PC(the one with the SSD require to be updated), turn on and keep pressing F11 or F7(depends on the PC model), select boot device U disk and confirm to enter PE system.
2. After login to PE system, right click “Computer” and find U disk, open U disk and open file “Reinitial&DLMC_SBFQP1C3_20210720”, then run program “Reinitial&DLMC_SBFQP1C3_20210720.exe”. 3. Follow software guide to go next and update, pls note: update firmware will delete all files within the SSD.
Select SSD within Device option, regularly it will auto detected; then click “ Get Device Info”, then “Upgrade Firmware” When message “ Update Successful to SBFQP1C3” shows, update finished, now there is nothing within the SSD, and the PC system need to reinstall before it can run normlly.
