Between Jan 2021 and Jun 2021, we use some KingFast SSD, which using PHISON S11 Chip and YANGTZE memory. Those SSD may going to write protection status, it’s origined from firmware bug in firmware version SBFQP1.3 and SBFQPW3, to solve this problem, we suggest user update firmware to SBFQP1C3.
This guide is applicable to the SSD that has not entered the write protected state, and can enter the windows system normally.
First, let’s introduce how to check SSD firmware version.
Use software “TxBENCH” to check SSD firmware version. Run “txbench.exe”, open the software and select the “Drive Information” option to view the firmware version. If more than two SSDs are installed in the PC, select the SSD named KingFast in the drive. See picture below: Here you can download Txbench software. Once confirm current SSD firmware version is the bug version, go next step using “Reinitial&DLMC” software to update the SSD in current windows, updating in current system will not hurt files in the SSD.
Now, let’s introduce the way using “Reinitial&DLMC” to update the firmware. You can download “Reinitial&DLMC” program first.
1. Run “Reinitial&DLMC_SBFQP1C3_20210720”as Administrator
2. Click “Get Device Info.” and confirm the SSD is the one need to be updated, then click “ Upgrade Firmware” and click “OK”. Wait about 30 seconds until below information shows update successful. Then turn off the software and restart the computer will be ok.
